Sorry, but I just don't fully buy into the storyline that Pope Benedict XVI is resigning strictly for reasons of advanced age and failing health. Come on - it's been hundreds of years since a Pope resigned, and down through history we've had countless Popes all but drooling in their soup, but still on the job.
We had some great calls this morning on the Pope's resignation that shocked and surprised everyone. Here's more on the story, including an incredible photo of lightning striking the dome of St. Peter's Basilica just hours after the Pope announced he's stepping down. Is this God weighing in?
